After our standard bar breakfast, we headed out on a dirt track with vineyards either side. As always, there were plenty of flowers. There was an occasional tractor or car, and hills in the distance, one with a mystical village and castle that we dubbed Camelot.
After a while we met up with a fellow walker, and shared the picnic table he had found. We swapped stories - he is from Sweden and has a nephew living 20 minutes away from us in Australia. Small world!
We continued on, passing fields of olive trees, olive trees interspersed with vines, and espaliered olive trees.
We saw Torremejia from some distance away, and thought we'd found a shortcut, indicated by yellow arrows, taking us under the railway line. We couldn't find the path on the other side but our Swedish friend later confirmed there was indeed an overgrown track.
Instead we traipsed on, crossing at the bridge and checking into our accommodation.

Day 28 - Map |
Day: 28
Distance: 27.41 km
Walking time: 5 hrs 29 mins
Elevation gain: 165 meters
Cumulative distance: 506.82 km
What an exceptional day. More beautiful flowers and scenery. I think I'd manage this part of the walk, if so photogenic.
ReplyDeleteIt might be a very slow walk with all the photography but you'd get there in the end!
DeleteHopefully 😆
DeleteThe underwing pattern is fairly unusual so I think it might be Booted Eagles (but the long tail is a bit contra-indicating)
