Our first stop this morning was to get our daily stamp and buy another pilgrim credential at the Triana Backpackers Hostel, as we expect to fill the first credential before we finish our journey.
We explored the Triana Market a bit more - the previous day many of the stalls had already closed. There were many interesting things, some of which we were unable to photograph - a huge red tuna with a sign roughly translated as 'this is not a monument please don't photograph', and many that we were.
Our next stop was planned to be the museum of the Spanish Inquisition, in the Castillo de San Jorge, but unfortunately it was closed - no explanation given.
We walked through streets and parks, and crossed the river via a footbridge to the Alameda de Hercules, where we found some Roman pillars. Nearby a second-hand bookshop served coffee, so this was a good excuse for a sit down. We then noticed we were hungry, but as this was a rest day we walked only as far as the restaurant next door for our lunch.
After a good sit down and wonderful lunch, we wandered up to the Macarena area. We followed the old city walls for a while before finding our way to the Market de Feria and the Palace of the Marquises of La Algaba. This was a beautiful building with exhibits explaining Mudejar architecture.
Our final stop before dinner was the amazing Setas (mushrooms), a huge white 'pergola' that dominates the square. There was plenty of action - kids playing chase, teenagers hanging out, tourists taking photos.
